Winter Layering

Get the most out of your clothing with layering. Layering creates new ways to style pieces without having to purchase new items. It also helps to stay cozy in the colder months.

Outfit 1: Try a sweater over fall flannel -roll up the sleeves to showcase more of the pattern. The layering under the open back sweater, allows you to wear the sweater when temperatures drop. The flannel adds warmth but displays dimension to the look. Pair with booties and a leather jacket or faux fur.

Outfit 2: For Chicago winters, I find myself gravitating towards wearing as many layers as possible to stay warm. The goal is to achieve a cozy look that is stylish without looking too bulky. Start with a base layer such as a turtleneck. Add a layer of warmth with a pullover or fleece. Pair with leggings for comfort and proportional balance. Do not forget chunky socks or knits. A beanie is a staple for winter with so many fun options to choose from.
